The spectacular stranding of the "Vestas" at the last Volvo Ocean Race showed that electronic navigation has its pitfalls. Such misunderstandings during navigation cannot be ruled out in local areas either.
Often the question arises as to which is better: the raster map, which depicts the simplified image of the paper lake map, or the vector map, which contains a wealth of information depending on the zoom level. The vector map offers the chance to find out more about the area, but it depends on the correct operation and settings. After all, entering your own depth into the map software also changes the map image.
