The weekend and the time up to and including May 1st are determined by an extensive and very strong high pressure area. It is focused on the Shetlands through Monday. A high pressure ridge extends from there to the Baltic States.
During this time, the western Baltic Sea is mostly in a weak to moderate easterly current. On Tuesday, a focus of the high pressure area will develop over Scandinavia.
