There have long been countless opportunities to find out about the weather. The tried and tested VHF marine radio is just one of many alternatives. The Internet alone offers a wealth of different sources for meteo data and forecasts. And the mobile phone has long since become an indispensable helper for many sailors in order to have weather forecasts sent briefly and succinctly via SMS to almost anywhere in the world
The YACHT's annual weather service has therefore been significantly expanded. As before, radio and coastal radio frequencies for northern and southern Europe, including the respective transmission times, are listed in large overview tables, sorted by country. In addition, the best internet addresses are listed for each area. And for the first time there is a detailed comparison of all relevant SMS weather providers.
