"Benefic"
Seven Vendée Globe participants are still in the running. Conrad Humphreys currently leads the fleet. It is still around 600 nautical miles from the destination in Les Sables d’Olonne.
Vendée winner Vincent Riou has had solid ground under his feet for two weeks, while seven skippers are still fighting with themselves, their ships, the wind and the sea.
In all likelihood, the next sailor will be Conrad Humphreys with his “Hellomoto” to reach the destination in Les Sables. With that, the Briton managed a great race. After all, he had to stop in a South African bay for two days to replace an oar blade. After the repair, he sailed after the entire field, overtaking one competitor after the other.
His last victim is Joé Seeten ("Arcelor Dunkerque"). Humphreys has asked him in the past few days, and now he is around 40 nautical miles ahead of the French.
Bruce Schwab sails in ninth position with his "Ocean Planet". He still has to cover a good 1,000 nautical miles to his destination. He is followed by Benoit Parneaudeau ("Max Havelaar / Best Western", 2,500 nm to the destination), Anne Liardet ("Roxy", 2,800 nm to the destination) and Raphael Dinelli ("AkenVérandas", 3,400 nm to the destination). Karen Leibovici has the red lantern on board her “Benefic”. You still have to cover around 4,000 nautical miles to Les Sables d’Olonne. By the time she enters the canal of the French coastal city, two, three or even four more weeks will have passed.
