The plan was changed due to overwhelming demand. A few days ago, boat manager Oli Allard was waiting in Falmouth on board "B&Q" for a weather window that would bring him and the transfer crew safely across the English Channel to Lorient.

Reason for the trip: refit, thorough check. The famous blue-orange Tri is now sailing as planned in the wintry canal, but to London, not France. Because on Sunday, Ellen MacArthur in Greenwich will be preparing a large station.

The process: From 10 o'clock in the morning, "B&Q" sails the Thames between Greenwich Gardens and Tower Bridge. An hour later, the tri turns right in front of the bridge and sails back to Greenwich. As soon as Ellen MacArthur has moored her boat in the harbor of the famous Maritime Museum, she climbs a stage right next to the famous tea clipper "Cutty Sark". There she talks about her trip from 12:30 p.m. She is also received on the "Cutty Sark" itself. At 1.30 p.m., she casts off again.

When Ellen MacArthur returned home from the Vendée Globe Challenge four years ago, the Open 60 "Kingfisher" and she received a similar reception. The reason: London was the home port on the stern of the racing yacht, one of the most important germ cells of modern seafaring. The trimaran "B&Q" is also registered in London, and rightly so: like all major boats, it belongs there. This is probably one of the reasons why the three-hull boat is received there with almost royal honors. Almost because Tower Bridge is not specially opened for the reception.
