Arved Fuchs travels to Ushuaia at the beginning of December to carry out a research project with the "Dagmar Aaen"
Two days earlier than expected, the "Dagmar Aaen" arrived in Ushuaie under skipper Volker Wenzel. Arved Fuchs will board on December 5th to tour the Antarctic Peninsula. A camera team goes on board with him and is shooting two documentaries for ZDFinfo: They deal with the anniversary of the first visit to Cape Horn 400 years ago and Günther Plüschow's historic expedition, who sailed from Büsum to Tierra del Fuego in 1927.
The entire trip takes place as part of the "Ocean Change" expedition, which aims to draw attention to the changes in the world's oceans. The research project in which Fuchs will participate with the "Dagmar Aaen" from January onwards is related to this: Together with the Antarctic Research Trust, satellite transmitters are to be attached to rockhopper penguins in order to track the migrations of the animals to their feeding areas.
