Visitors on museum ships in the port of Hamburg

On the occasion of the nationwide Monument Day, visitors can visit the 50s shed in Hamburg's historic harbor at the weekend. The main attraction is the restored general cargo ship "Bleichen".

Unlike in previous years, this time the ships are in the foreground of the event. It takes place under the motto "Sheds, Ships, Showers" from September 8th to 9th.

The general cargo ship “Bleichen”, which was only transferred from Istanbul in January, will be opened to visitors for the first time. From general cargo handling to historic railways and the old quay halls, everyday work in the Port of Hamburg can be observed before the container is introduced.

In addition to the presentation of old floating cranes, suction cups and box barges, guided tours and exhibitions around the ThemHafen are offered. Visitors can also take part in harbor tours on old harbor vehicles and utility yachts.
