The "HaspHamburg" back in Hamburg
Already yesterday at noon the club yacht of the Hamburgischer Verein Seefahrt arrived at the destination of the unofficial third stage, the Port of Hamburg. On September 30th, the "HaspHamburg" together with the "Walross 4" and the "Bank von Bremen" left Hortauf the Azores and initially set course for the actual destination of the race, Helgoland. The Hamburg sailors were also the first to reach the German offshore island after eleven days at sea, ahead of the crews from Bremen and Berlin.
This morning at 3 o'clock the "bank" of the sailing comrades saw the coat of arms of Bremen in front of the Hamburg jetties, the "Walross" took a little longer and only reached the end of the race this afternoon.

Behind the crews lies a month-and-a-half race that did not save on challenges. There were already problems at the start because two ships did not arrive at the line on time due to a lack of declaration papers and were delayed on the many thousands of nautical miles long run.
"HaspHamburg" in particular was hit hard on the way. After a want was broken in the middle of the Atlantic between the first and second spreader, the crew had to make an unscheduled repair stop on Cape Verde. They made it to the first stage destination in the Azores just in time to go back to the second stage just one day later.
