A well-written log or diary of the hours at sea is perhaps the best basis for your first book
Have you always dreamed of writing a book about your sailing adventures? Well, the chance couldn't be better: on November 5th, 2016, the Saturday of the second Hanseboot weekend, the first author speed dating will take place as part of the Ostseestammtisch in Hamburg. Writing sailors and sailing writers are given the opportunity to present their experiences on the water in front of an audience and the Delius Klasing Verlag at the same time. We are looking for good stories of traveling under sail and adventures at sea, the experiences do not necessarily have to take place on the Baltic Sea.
If you want to participate, you need an exposé of a maximum of one page and a reading sample that shows your own writing style and is a maximum of three pages long. Birgit Radebold, editor at Delius Klasing, sifts through the submitted texts in advance and invites the most promising candidates to speed dating. Every ambitious author has five minutes to present his or her book idea. Last but not least, the applause on site will decide whether the publisher will offer a book contract.
