Again this season, the publishing house and YACHT are supporting young sailors - more intensively than ever before. There have never been so many attractive sponsor packages for the "Yougnsters".
The YACHT Youngsters campaign was launched in 2000. With the support of well-known sponsors, 200 school projects have been funded since then. In the past year alone, six new donors were won. And this time it gets even better: In addition, three school sailing weeks worth 5,000 euros each were made available by Ostsee-Holstein-Tourismus.
YACHT Youngsters supports work groups, courses or classes with cash and non-cash benefits worth 1,000 euros. In this way, young people are brought closer to sailing with great success - almost half of the participants took a sailing license at the end of their project.
Schools of all kinds can apply for funding, in the past mainly high schools. The age group most represented was those between 14 and 16 years of age. Most often, the YACHT took groups of 16 to 20 students out onto the water.
