The Immoset Sailing Team was early this season. Over Easter we trained with catamaran guru Mitch Booth on Lake Constance. This training ended abruptly on Easter Monday. In actually moderate conditions the Ventilo-28-M2-Katamaran sails under gennaker with about 15 knots speed and therefore too slowly. A gust comes in with about 25 knots, the cat gets too much pressure. The traveler is not lowered in time, both hulls undercut, the boat capsizes over the bow.
Nobody was hurt. Helmsman Ueli Naef even manages an artistic climbing party. He stays dry. Only break two battens. The Kat can be raised with the help of the support boat.
