Burghard Pieske (r.) Shows participants how to use the sextant
Jimmy Cornell, Burghard Pieske, Sönke Roever, Johannes Erdmann, Nathalie Müller, Leon Schulz, Meeno Schrader, Egmont Friedl and many other circumnavigators, Atlantic crossers or long-distance technology experts passed on their know-how for two and a half days. In lectures about navigation and communication, weather practice and engine technology, energy supply and piracy prevention, rope handling and safety equipment, there was a lot to learn and experience first hand.
The YACHT had invited to the YACHT-Bluewater, an event consisting of lectures and seminars, an equipment fair geared towards long-haul accessories and an inwater boat show with new and proven yachts. Blue water sailors and those who still want to become one had come - to expand their knowledge and to exchange experiences.
