Jesper Bank, skipper of the German America’s Cup syndicate United Internet Team Germany, wins his first Swedish Match Cup event with four sailors from the AC team.
However, Bank did not secure victory in the final match against his worst opponent Gavin Brady (BMW-Oracle) from New Zealand. Rather, after the final was tied between the opponents and no further run could be started due to the lack of wind, a victory from the first day when Bank defeated Brady was fetched for the decision.
Jochen Schümann and his Alinghi team took third place behind Brady. The New Zealander Dean Barker from the Emirates Team New Zeeland landed in fourth place.
