Glance into the new showroom on Frederiksø
The collection of the recreational craft museum, which opened in 1996, last filled a magazine, and only a small part of it fit into the exhibition rooms. Around 40 vehicles could be presented in the remise of the manor house on Svendborgsund. Even in this state, the museum was considered a "gem among pearls" among connoisseurs.

Svend Billesbølle sailed around the world two and a half times in the 18-foot boat "Stormy II"
An old shipyard hall is now available to the museum's operating association, which is within walking distance of the city harbor of Svendborg on the island of Frederiksø. In future, the museum can be recognized by Denmark's largest half-model - with a length of nine meters - which will adorn the facade. Mayor Lars Erik Hornemann does not want to miss the opportunity to personally unveil the piece of jewelery and thus carry out the symbolic opening of the new old museum.

The former machine hall of the shipyard is located directly across from the packing house and the museum harbor and can be easily reached on foot from the sport boat jetty in the city harbor
In addition to boats that have not yet been exhibited and the already known exhibits, new attractions will be presented. This included a sailing simulator, says museum director Martin Stockholm. This should make the visit more attractive, especially for families with children. There are other offers available for them - which one needs to be found out for yourself.

The steam-powered launch of an earlier schooner from the imperial era was still walking on Svendborgsund in the 1980s
