The winners' party: champagne for everyone on the league podium
Seven wins in 13 races resulted in a win rate of more than 50 percent for the defending champions from the German Touring Yacht Club on the second weekend of the Bundesliga. With this sovereign gala performance, the reigning German champions sailed confidently to their first win of the season on Lake Constance and also took the lead in the standings ahead of the second-placed VSaW and the Lindau Sailing Club, because the top runners from the NRV stumbled on Lake Constance with twelfth place.

DTYC helmsman Julian Stückl, Patrick Follmann, Jonas Vogt and Tobias Bolduan referred the team from the Seglerhaus am Wannsee association and the Bavarian Yacht Club in front of Konstanz to positions two and three. The Berlin VSaW team led by skipper Malte Kamrath had been able to stand up to the Tutzingen team for a long time and had five race wins themselves, but the final account was six points short of victory.

Things were always as close as here on the second league weekend of the season on Lake Constance
Lake Constance challenged the first and second division teams intensively this weekend with easy and complicated sailing conditions. There were postponements and longer lulls. Not all of the planned runs could be completed. It was best for the DTYC crew to keep their concentration, which always gave themselves good starting positions with successful starts in series. “We got off to a very, very good start at this event. That made a difference,” said Steuermann Stückl, “but even when we didn't start so well, we kept sailing tactically clean and did the others well a few times can trick."

A strong team: The VSaW crew and helmsman Malte Kamrath sailed in second place off Konstanz
While there was joy at the top in the upper house, Jochen Schümanns Yachtclub Berlin-Grünau (YCBG) found himself without the three-time Olympic champion at the end of the three-day league encounter in 18th place and thus slipped to 17th place in the table. The Olympic sixth and YCBG helmsman Robert Stanjek received six unusual last places in the eleven races without a regular crew and could not get rid of the red lantern in the stern in the last races.
In the 2nd Bundesliga, a northern club in the south won: the Bremer Segelkameradschaft The coat of arms of Bremen, just relegated to the lower house, relegated the Bodensee-Yacht-Club Überlingen and the Schweriner Yacht-Club to positions two and three. The top of the table was taken over by the Hamburg sailing club, which failed in their relegation to the 1st Bundesliga, with fifth place in Constance ahead of the Potsdam Yacht Club and the host Constance Yacht Club. The third league weekend for first and second division teams will take place in front of Travemünde from July 23 to 25.
